Update information on the recently found van in Essex.

 Tyresoles are still about and still doing remoulds and other rubber items in the Far east.

Funny old world, seems the J type vans in Australia Facebook site are getting some grill chrome strips and centre bars made up. They are going to be made in the UK, so yet again we will be exporting items to down under. Lets hope some of these will be for sale in the UK, anyone seen an advert for them yet?

No chassis number given in the advert but from the body plate it can be estimated to be between J/R 10000 and J/R12500 and this dates the van from mid to late 1951 production.

A J van comes out of hiding after 20+ years storage.

Converted to a SU carburettor, from the different manifold, air cleaner, breather pipe and engine lifting hooks, one would think its had an up grade at some time.

Needs a fair amount of body work, far worse examples have been saved.

We are told it attended a couple of J type rallies in the mid 1980's then disappeared, thought to have been scrapped, its nice to know its been hiding all this time.
