A local Sunday Classic vehicle show.

Took the van to The Chertsey agricultural show today. Mainly to see all the farm animals being judged. Also not forgetting all the horse jumping, carriage driving, heavy horses, ploughing and a troop of Knights of old doing a jousting display.
A good turn out of vehicles, shame there were just two commercials. So many bright and polished to an inch of their lives classic cars, reminded me of a vintage supermarket car-park.
The van loaded up with chairs and enough picnic food to last us for a 3 day event.
Still the van did sterling service and having got there by 9am as the main roads in the area were due to be closed while they did a practice Olympic cycle road run and there would be chaos was the warning. On the morning news they were warning so many people could be watching the cycling event the whole area was going to be grid locked. Not so, we sailed to the rally with out a hitch and did not see one bike anywhere.
I think Britain is rather bored by this Olympic hype, an event we cannot afford to host.

An interesting day and I had half expected "Blackshed" a fellow J type van owner to be there as this show is on his door step. Even a fellow classic car owner mentioned that there was "one of these vans in the village" and I'm sure "he will be down shortly". Well after a seven hours on the rally field we made our way home and nearly ran over "blackshed" walking his dog, a quick hello and off we went.
There is not much about the J type van on Blacksheds blog, due to him having many other splendid toys to play with.  No doubt it will be on the road shortly and I would like us to get our two vans together.
