Changes to this blog.

Hi to all readers, just to let you know there will be some changes to this blog shortly.
The first being a new joint author will be adding items to this blog, we will both be posting items and we are widening our subject matter to include more interesting items on the vehicle makes that became B.M.C. in the 1950's.
You will notice a difference in style, he can spell and his grammar is always correct.
Therefore a new contact e-mail is required, here it is. fiftiesvehicles@mail.com
My Jb van has been back on the road now for a week after the axle overhaul and ratio change. I've been using it for the journey to and from work and so far I'm very pleased with it. There is lower engine noise in the cab when bumbling along at 35mph but I have yet to see if my MPG will improved, time will tell.

JB ice cream van for sale.

In this weeks classic car weekly, there is a brief advert for a Morris JB van.
" Morris JB, 1959, Open to offers, Original ice cream van, offers invited, Yorkshire, phone 07415 616364".
Funny I seem to to know this number, maybe it was on an e-bay advert at some time. Shame no picture included in the advert.
Keep scanning e-bay, rumors are there will be a couple of J type project coming up for sale soon, I wonder if they will go for silly prices again.

Australian JB owner meets Canadian J's.

JB has been on holiday to the USA, so he just had to pop in to Canada (only a slight detour) to see two very early J types.
Check out his blog for the full story. http://aq62uumrcool.blogspot.co.uk/

The Torch...

The Torch passes through Slough, near to where I work. Shame I could not get the JB van near to the Torch route, a Torch and JB picture would have been nice.

The very nice van in the previous post has sold for a very reasonable amount. Some recent project vans have gone for a lot more money so I think this was a bit of a bargain.
I hope the new owner will make contact and we can find out if he likes his new toy.
I have been busy, well as much as I can between the very heavy showers that the UK has been suffering these recent months.
I've started the overhaul of my JB rear axle while this is stripped out I have replaced the crown wheel and pinion to alter the rear axle ratio.
I have as always started a blog on this so if it interests you do take a look.
